Better Day . . .

Matthew has had a much better day today. His pain seems to be manageable and so far his lungs look great. He is starting to cough and his voice is coming back. They moved us to a bigger room and a big bed so I can sleep with him. This really calmed him down this afternoon. I think tonight will go much smoother. He has started to drink a little and he has ate 3 Popsicles. They will take another chest x-ray in the morning to see how the fluid is. They told us to expect some build up tomorrow and that is normal. They have weaned him off of some of his narcotics and they were able to pull one line out. We are making steady progress. His urine output has been a balancing act. They give him a diuretic to urinate and then he gets dry and they have to push more volume (fluid). All in all it's been a good day. He is making some amazing progress!!
