Heavy Hearts . . .

I have mixed feelings as I'm writing this post. We are feeling a little overwhelmed and if we are honest with ourselves, we are experiencing some anxiety. As of right now, Matthew's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8:00am. Taylor came home from school this past week with a fever and sore throat. I took her to the doctor on Wednesday and they gave her an antibiotic but they thought it was viral. They decided to treat her because of Matthew's surgery. Later that evening Matthew spiked a low grade fever. The next day, we saw the Nurse Practitioner at his surgeon's office and she diagnosed Matthew with a double ear infection. She said he should be okay to go ahead with surgery but Dr. Fortuna will need to see him on Monday to make the final decision. Matthew was doing much better yesterday so were relieved that all was fine. This afternoon Matthew has started with a barky cough and has a raspy voice. We have no idea what is going on. We see the surgeon in the morning and we are very nervous that surgery may be rescheduled.

Please pray for our surgeon to make the right decision and for our peace. We are so ready to get this over with and the idea of rescheduling is making us sick to our stomachs. We want Matthew to go into surgery in the best condition possible so please pray for his healing. Our other prayer request is for our peace. The reality of going through all of this again is starting to hit hard. We are scared and anxious. We know that God is in control and he will carry us through this again but we are human and we would be lying if we didn't say we are so scared!!

Our appointment is at 10:50 in the morning and we will post shortly after that what the surgeon has decided. Thank you for your prayers they mean so much!!
