We don't have a final total but I know we raised approximately 1700.00. Wow! We have been very overwhelmed with everyone's generosity. Thank you so much. The last 6 months have shown us how many selfless wonderful friends and family we have and we appreciate every one of you.
I really enjoyed talking to those of you who called in on the day of the telethon. I started off with a training session and then Matthew and I went immediately on stage to answer phones. Matthew was on my lap for 2 hours and never fussed a bit. He seemed to be enjoying the spotlight. The TOUCH (The Organization for Understanding Children's Hearts) hour was one the biggest hours they had. I sat next to a Doctor who happened to be the Grandpa of a little girl (Berkley) who has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. We met her a few weeks ago in the PICU during one of our visits. It was interesting to share stories of our journey and talking about all of the ups and downs. It was an exciting day to see all of the heart children playing. You would have no idea that they have such serious heart defects. We left the day with mixed emotions. Excited that we were able to give back to the hospital for everything they've done for us and sad for some of the families who have either lost a child or are still hurting as their child is struggling with their heart defect.

For those of you who weren't able to watch it, Matthew made his debut by grabbing the microphone from Christine Zak, a news anchor that stopped to interview Matthew and I during our telephone hour. She said that she believes Matthew has a future in broadcasting. When Matthew wasn't grabbing the microphone, he was chewing on the phone cord, eating paper or smacking the 6 year old heart child next to him. He was so funny and entertaining.
Here are a few shots of our day. Thanks again. Our hearts were blessed by your generosity.

Matthew still showing off at the end the day. He doesn't even look tired for having no afternoon nap. The picture below is him doing his fishy lips. What a character!

Now Matthew looks like his Grandpa Gray. Pretty handsome isn't he?
