Matthew's progress has stalled just a little today. He's still doing very well but the extra medication he was given during his chest closing yesterday has caused him to rely more on the ventilator today than we were hoping. He was able to get his chest drainage tubes out today and a few more of what has seemed like dozens of lines going into his body were removed today. If all goes well, we hope to begin the ventilator weaning tomorrow.
His nurses are now starting to call him their poster child for hypoplastic heart surgeries as he has continued to make "best case scenario" progress. Hearing them say this gives us goose bumps.
