I'm a little behind . . .

I know I said that I would post more pictures of the birthday girl but I got a new camera and I haven't read enough on how to edit my pictures. I will try to get them posted tonight.

I wanted to ask for prayers for my sister's little girl, Alyssa. Many of you will remember all the issues she had around the same time Matthew was in the hospital. Unfortunately, we have managed to stay hospital free but she has not. They have ran several tests and she still aspirates when she drinks which causes her lungs to fill up with mucous. She has had the flu (a guess of what it is) several times. She ends up being dehydrated and admitted for fluids. I received a call this morning and here she goes again. They are at the hospital right now and she is dehydrated again. They can't figure out what is going on with her. My sister is completely exhausted and full of worry with no answers. Please pray for the doctor's guidance and Kim's sanity.

On a second note, Matthew is scheduled for surgery next Friday, April 3rd. This is probably more info than you want to hear but he is being circumcised. Due to heart surgeries at birth, he wasn't allowed to be circumcised (risk of infection). The time has come to get it done and I have to admit I'm a little on the worried side. I know you take a chance every time a child has anesthesia but Matthew's heart makes a routine procedure a little more complicated. They don't expect any problems whatsoever but you never know. His blood pressure was a little high when went to see the urologist but Matthew gets frustrated very easily so we are contributing it to his temper ( I have no idea where he gets his temper - I think it's from his Dad :) but don't tell Craig I said so)! Pray all goes well, that he keeps his blood pressure down and doesn't get too worked up from not eating the morning of surgery. Should be interesting.

As always thank you for your prayers. I will try to get more pictures up tonight.

Prayers for your niece will be lifted up tonight. I personally have always hated the "I don't know non diagnosis."
Circumcision is such a personal decision but I feel I must urge you to gather ALL the info you can before doing it. Your son has been through so much already and will continue to struggle throughout his life , that doing another surgery without solid medical validation is to say the least risky. I hope you're not offended and I'd be happy to talk to you as a mom to two uncircumcised boys. I've spoken to many moms about this very subject and even to one who has a son with a CHD.
