Matthew's Road
Welcome to Matthew's Road. This is the story of one little boy's journey with Congenital Heart Disease.
Even before entering this world Matthew was diagnosed with multiple heart defects including Hypoplastic Right Ventricle, Tricuspid Atresia, Atrial Septal Defect, Ventricular Septal Defect and Transposition of the Great Arteries. During his first surgery it was also discovered that he had Coarctation of the Aorta and a Right Subclavian Artery made up of Ductal Tissue.
The purpose of this web site is to chronicle the road Matthew must travel in order for us to get to be with him in this world. It's as much therapy for his mom and dad as it is a way to provide regular updates for friends and family.

We continually lift Matthew (and you guys) in our prayers. Our thoughts will be with you throughout today and the days to come. I am anxiously awaiting the next post to see how Matthew is progressing.

I know what a long day this is for you. Lean on eachother for support and know that Matthew is in the best hands he can be in. I remember after Brodie had his second stage completed, Dr. Fortuna joked that he looked like he had on lipstick because his lips were so pink! It was very refreshing. Hang in there and we'll keep praying!
