Surgery Rescheduled Again . . .

Here we go again. Last weekend, we received a call that Craig's Grandpa was not doing well. We went to see him and left the kids with my Mom to keep them away from germs so that Matthew stays healthy. We received a phone call from Mom that both kids were throwing up and running high fevers. Matthew actually spiked a fever of 105.8. Scared us to death. We hurried up and put him in the tub with a fan and was able to get it down to 102. We were ready to call 911 because his breathing was really bad. It was a long weekend of keeping a close eye on both kids. Craig's Grandpa passed away the next day and we are so thankful that we were able to see him one more time.

I called Matthew's surgeon and they said we should bump the surgery to make sure he is over the virus. They tried to reschedule in August but it was for the week before Taylor starts school. We could not do that to her and I don't think I could handle it either. We are now scheduled for September 21st. Crazy - I know!! After discussing this with Craig we have peace that this is the right time. It seems like Matthew has been so sick this summer and that God is trying to tell us that it isn't time. We will be in the new Children's Hospital and that will be a huge blessing. We will have a sleeper sofa and bathroom in his room. That will be so nice and make things a lot easier on Craig and I. We also found out that Taylor will be allowed to see him in the new hospital. That will help her too! She is very protective of Matthew and not seeing him for 2 weeks or longer would be rough.

We appreciate all the prayers and emails. They have helped keep our spirits up. Please keep us in your prayers. At least the later surgery date gives us more time to pray!! We will keep you updated as we go.
