Good Reports . . .

Matthew had an appointment with his cardiologist on Tuesday and we received a glowing report. He had an echo done and it was so funny because he decided he knew how to run it and was going to take over the equipment and do it himself. When they went to take his blood pressure, he stuck his arm straight out and held it there until they were done. I guess echos and blood pressures are routine for Matthew. His oxygen saturations were 85. That was nice to see. Dr. Hasselman said he looks great and we were able to take him off of his blood pressure medication. That was exciting news. We are only taking one medication now and his baby aspirin. We sure have come a long way and it is so exciting to be down to so little medication.

His only concern for Matthew right now is his coarctation. Apparently, one out of three coarctations will have a recoarctation. They will keep an eye on his and we will pray that he will beat all odds and not have this problem. We started discussing surgery #3 and my heart sank at the thought of it. I going to try to forget it for the next year and enjoy each day we are blessed to have him. Hey, we don't have to go back for 6 months. Can you believe that?!! How exciting.

Just wanted to post the good news. We are getting close to Matthew's first birthday and I will be letting everybody know of our big plans for the day. We have so much to celebrate this year!!
