Flu Breakout . . . Ugh!!!!

Another crazy week in the Orwig household. We woke up last weekend to a leak in our roof that did quite a number on Taylor's bedroom. To make a long story short - Taylor has moved into our bedroom, her toys and dressers have invaded Matthew's bedroom and we had to tear out carpet and a wall due to mold that started growing. We are still waiting on an insurance adjuster to come out. Due to the hurricane, all of their adjuster's' are down south. We finally have one scheduled to come out on Tuesday. It's going to be a crazy few weeks until the roof gets fixed and we are able to re drywall and get new carpet installed.

Due to the mold, the kids and I went and stayed with my Mom and Dad for a couple days until Craig was able to tear out the carpet and the walls and then he treated the mold that grew so quickly. On Wednesday, Taylor came down with the flu, Matthew and Mommy followed. Daddy was scared to come home but he braved it and then he ended up with a touch of it. Today is the first day that nobody got sick. Yeah - I think we are on the mend.

Can we expect anything less. This seems to be the way our year has gone. Although, God has been good to us. Matthew is doing well and it could be a lot worse. Laughing about our year, Craig and I have decided that we are looking forward to 2009. A fresh new start.

Next weekend is the TOUCH (The Organization for Understanding Children's Hearts) picnic at Wildlife Prairie Park. We are really looking forward to it. It will be a nice reunion with all of the other parents and children we met and to get caught back up with the doctors, nurses and staff that made a difference in Matthew's life. I will post some pictures next week.
